Project Chartering
Project Chartering is a structured approach to collection, adoption, and direction setting for major new capital initiatives in today’s complex, multi-layered, and multi-talented manufacturing organizations. The approach draws together the full vertical breadth of stakeholders in a new capital program in a structured and open review of the ‘must accomplish’ for the project, as well as the ambitions, aspirations, and needs across all internal constituencies.
All too often a capital project is hampered by divergent directions, differing goals internal to the organization. Project Chartering is the opportunity at the outset to align all voices, all factors to a successful outcome.
cGMA convenes the full spectrum of stakeholders from within the company, from corporate management, finance, operations, regulatory relations, quality systems, marketing, supply chain management, and maintenance in order to discuss a broad spectrum of foundational direction for the project. In the process of this conversation each group hears the others. Direction is given. Success factors, and those that would cause failure, are recognized. Concerns understood. Alignment achieved. A Project Charter, a road map to success, results.
